September 2, 2016
Greetings All,
It is truly a pleasure to welcome the members of The Association of Kannada Kootas of America (AKKA), on this special occasion of their 9th World Kannada Conference, held in Atlantic City at the Atlantic City Convention Center. How wonderful it will be to have the largest gathering of Kannadigas outside of Karnataka to be in our City for this multi-day event!
As a not for profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting social, cultural, artistic, charitable and business activities of the people originating from the state of Karnataka in India, AKKA should be applauded for their work for promoting and preserving their heritage. Since its inception in 1998, AKKA has evolved into a major platform reaching over 200,000 people through its 40+ affiliate chapters spread across the United States and Canada.
On behalf of the residents and merchants of Atlantic City, we are proud to be your host of this longstanding tradition to celebrate this entrance in to society. While you are in town, I hope you have an opportunity to enjoy our Boardwalk, our resorts, restaurants, shops, entertainment, arts and cultural offerings. Explore our City and “DO AC” where the sky is the limit!
Make your conference days of September 2nd thru 4th productive and enlightening while your evenings engage your senses as you explore our great City. I hope it will bring you back again and again.
Sincerely,
Donald A. Guardian
Mayor
