Ms. Lakshana Pujar

Vice President, Head of Corporate Human Resources & Global HR Operations DFC Global Corp.

Lakshana Pujar is currently the Vice President and Head of Corporate Human Resources at DFC Global Corp., a global mid market financial services company with a footprint in nine countries across North America and Europe, providing socially responsible lending options to the unbanked and underbanked. In her role, she leads global HR systems, global compensation, and payroll and benefits for North America, while acting as a strategic and operations partner with the C-suite. 
With roots from Dharwad due to her parents, she grew up in North India and then pursued her education and professional career in North, East and West India. This cosmopolitan background helped her appreciate and assimilate different cultures, sparking her affinity for  HR.  Her professional career began in the hospitality industry with the Oberoi Hotels and Resorts in India, with operational leadership at signature hotels in Calcutta, Jaipur, New Delhi and Mumbai before transitioning to HR with the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia. She led Regional HR Operations at The Home Depot before her current position with DFC Global Corp.  Lakshana has a BS in Hotel Management from Temple University, B.Com from Delhi University, and a Diploma from the Institute of Hotel Management.
The roles that have been most rewarding perhaps would be her 2 year stint as the Campaign Coordinator for Amnesty International, as a mentor with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Philadelphia, and as a champion for bringing women back into the work place in partnership with Careerwardrobe. Aside from her volunteerism, she has a keen interest in histrionics.  She was a voice artist with All India Radio and did voice overs for Kannada and Hindi radio programs. Some highlights were her dubbing and voice over for Juhi Chawla’s TV ads. She acted in several tele-films for Doordarshan, prior to her move to the Greater Philadelphia area.
