Solo Dance Competition Guidelines

Eligibility

  • Performers must be Non-Residents of India to participate in the competition.
  • All participants must be registered attendees for AKKA 2024

Age Calculation Rule

Participants will be grouped according to age as of June 30, 2024. Age at 0.5 will automatically be rounded up to the higher age category. If requested, each contestant MUST provide proof of age.

How to send your Entries?

  • Upload your video on YouTube (see more instructions below).
  • Fill up the google form with your name, age, category you are performing in (See below for age category accepted) email, phone number, registration ID and the YouTube link to your video.

Note: We will be making a YouTube playlist based on age group for the judges. Please make sure your YouTube video is marked “NOT suitable for kids” so it can be added to the playlist.

Competition Criteria

  • A minimum of 3 entries is required to conduct the competition.
  • If 3 entries are not received, then the category will be removed from the competition.

Classical – Solo Non-Classical – Solo
Junior – (7 – 13 years) Junior – (7 – 13 years)
Senior (14-21 Years ) Senior (14-21 Years )
Adult ( 22- 35 ) Adult ( 22- 35 )
Elite ( 36 and above) Elite ( 36 and above )

Time Limit for videos Classical Solo category

  • Videos must be 3 minutes and should NOT exceed the time limit. 

Time Limit for videos Non-Classical category

  • Videos must be 2.5 minutes and should Not exceed the time limit.

Song Rules

  • All Non-classical songs must be in Kannada.
  • Classical songs can be in Kannada or Sanskrit.

Rounds

  • Round One ,Video Screening: During video screening,  judges will select contestants based on their online entries, and those selected will advance to the Finals.
  • Top 5 finalists from all categories will be chosen based on the video submissions.
  • Finalists will compete for the AKKA Super Dancer 2024 title at the convention.
  • Finals: Will be held at the AKKA Convention in person, in front of the judges. Venue and Timings will be communicated to the finalists.

Audience Choice Awards

  • In addition to the judges decision, finalists have a chance to post their video on social media where they will have the chance to win Audience Choice Awards, based on number of likes (votes) from viewers. 
  • Guidelines and instructions for this category will be given after the selection process for the final round.

Submission Deadline

All video entries must be submitted no later than June 30th, 2024

Rules/Responsibilities

  • Applicants must agree to abide by all the rules, as changed from time to time by the Organizers. AKKA is not responsible for the promises (such as recognition and awards by celebrities) as things might change on the fly and might go beyond our control.
  • The Organizers are not responsible for any delays or non-receipt of applications on any account and for any reason whatsoever.
  • The final round expenses (travel & stay) will have to be borne by the contestant(S)
  • Props can be used and set up with in the given time and used props should not create any mess on the stage.
  • The Organizers are not responsible for any loss or physical injury that occurs to the contestant on account of their participation in the event. The applicant will participate at their own risk and can have no claim against AKKA in any regard.
  • By being registered for this event, the participant and their family authorizes the use and reproduction of any photographs, audio and/or video recordings by AKKA or anyone authorized by AKKA.
  • All electronic or non-electronic negatives, positives and prints, and other digital files from or related to the event shall constitute as AKKA property, solely and completely.
  • In the event of any dispute, the Organizers decisions are final and binding on the Applicant.
