Tournament Rules:

  • 2-Person Team Formation: All entries will be divided into two groups based on handicap: one group consisting of low-handicap players and the other of high-handicap players. The cutoff handicap for these groups will be determined prior to the tournament. 2-person teams will be formed by randomly selecting one golfer from each group. If a team ends up with strong golfers, the AKKA Golf Committee will utilize the best available knowledge about the golfers and reassign them to ensure that all teams have an equal opportunity to perform well in the tournament. Family members cannot be placed in the same group.
  • A 2-person scramble entails both team members teeing off on each hole. The best tee shot is selected, and both players proceed to play their second shots from that spot. The better of the second shots is then determined, and both players proceed to play their third shots from that spot, and so on, until the ball is holed.
  • To expedite play, the maximum score a team can have for any hole is a Bogey.
  • Tiebreaker: In the event of a tie for the overall team score (either winner or runner-up), the committee will compare the scorecards of the tied teams, starting with the hole with the highest handicap and moving to the hole with the lowest handicap, continuing until one team has the lowest score on a hole.

These rules are subject to change prior to the start of the tournament. The AKKA Golf Committee reserves the rights to resolve any dispute and the committee’s decision is final.
